UK football                      

Our   football  team  is called the UK wildcats. Our  mascot is a wildcat. Our  team colors are white and blue. Our famous football coach is Hal Mummy . We have gone to 8 bowl games. 2 sec titles and12 NFL first draft choices. Our famous football player is Tim Couch. UK Basketball

Our basketball team is called the UK wild cats. Our mascot is a wild cat. Our team colors are blue and white. The most famous UK coach is Adolph Rupp, who the arena is named after. Another well-known coach of UK is Rick Pitino. He came in and rebuilt the program, taking the team to win the National title in 1996. The current coach is Tubby Smith. We have won all of these championships:1948, 1949,1951,1978,1996,and in 1998. They play in the Rupp Arena. One of the famous basketball players is Cameron Mills. Some UK basketball players that have gone on to the NBA in recent years are Jamal Mashburn, Derrick Anderson, Walter McCarty, Ron Mercer and Antoine Walker.

In downtown Lexington, we now have a museum dedicated to UK basketball. Lots of UK basketball information is given.
